Daisy the Schnorkie puppy was born in March 2004. Her parents were a Mini Schnauzer and a Yorkshire Terrier. I did not buy her, My ex GF did. I did not want a dog, much less a tinly little one that was named “Daisy”.
Still, when you look at the picture below, how can you not fall in love with this little Schnorkie?
I have always loved dogs and Daisy wormed her way into my heart in less than a week.
Schnorkie Puppies are unbearingly cute as well. It is important to note that Daisy has very skinny legs which you can see in the picture below. I do not know if this is common to all Schnorkies or not. However, within the first two weeks of owning her, she was stepped on, and her back right leg was broken. That took almost 3 months to heal. She still ran around like a wild thing though. Then, about two weeks after finally getting the cast off her rear leg, she got really excited and lept down a flight of stairs… and badly broke the radius and ulna of her front right leg! She now has a metal plate in that leg, and she often runs on 3 legs, favoring one of the right legs depending on her speed. If you plan on owning a Schnorkie, be careful with them, they are full of energy, but their long skinny legs are very fragile.
Here she is a playful 4 1/2 pounds, still only a few months old. As a Schnorkie, Daisy has all the bad traits of a Yorkie, and all the bad traits of a Schnauzer! She has the fierce energy associated with Yorkies, and the yowling bark of a Schnauzer. Still, you can’t help but love her.
Like all puppies, Schnorkies love to play.
This is a picture of Daisy out near Tahsis - with long scruffy hair.
Here You can see Daisy with her best pal, Gusto the Jack Russell.

I finally changed her haircut - or lack of it - as going on hikes, and just in general she got lots of stuff caught in her fur. The Schnauzer cut works well on a Schnorkie, but, as they are very small they tend to get cold after the haircut. 04_Schnorkie_Schnauzer_Haircut.jpg

Schnorkie and Mini Dachund at play. Daisy has far more spunk than the Mini Dachund, and this is after both two broken legs! 06_Schnorkie_Mini-Dachshund.jpg

Daisy feeling much better about the Schnauzer cut instead of the untamed Schnorkie frenzy. 06_Schnorkie_Schnauzer_Haircut.jpg
